I posted pics of AB at the duck pond, taken last Friday. Find them on Flickr here.

2. Get AB accepted at Montessori School for Shreveport.
Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! <—If you’re not sure how to read this, imagine me jumping and dancing triumphantly around the house and squealing with glee when we got the call from the admissions coordinator. Our baby is going to the best school in Shreveport.
She’ll have an “interview” with them in the coming weeks for classroom placement, but I think she’ll be placed in the 3-6 year old classroom. I am SO excited about the opportunity for AB to be in this environment. She is really going to thrive there, and I can’t wait to see it! I’m excited, too, about being a part of this community of parents. We went to their biggest fund raiser of the year last night - a silent auction - and really enjoyed meeting and mingling with other parents and teachers.
Now we just have to finish our potty-training by August. No pressure. :P But you know what, we can do it! Right now I feel like I could do just about anything.
In the car today on the way home from Lowe’s and Target, where we had completely tired ourselves out, AB was chattering to herself.
AB: Don’t want to take a nap. Want to take a bath! Don’t want to take a bath. Want to take a nap!
Me: So, you don’t want to take a nap because you’d rather take a bath, and you don’t want to take a bath because you’d rather take a nap. Does that about cover it?
AB: Yes! No!
Here are my favorite pictures from AB’s portrait session last weekend. I can’t wait to get the prints!!!

Here’s our favorite picture from yesterday. Mind, this was after she had gone through every single outfit we brought along with us. Yes, she had a blast.
Several relatives made comparisons between AB and a young me. (I was a big dirt-player. Tomboy to the core.) Dad said in his email with the pictures:
(AB) was a hit but we knew she would be. She’s so adorable. Watching her reminds me so much of you at that age. She might look like Joe but she acts like you.
Poor baby. :P
Oh, and PS: Note the formerly pretty, formerly white shoes which were - until yesterday - her dressy shoes. Shopping, anyone?

Zoomed:

We’re still waiting for pics, but here’s a low-res video Joey took on his camera phone yesterday.
We took AB to the boardwalk last night to get new shoes, and of course we took pictures.
Here she is on her “car phone” before we left the house. She rides this little plastic car all over the house these days, stopping in doorways to dismount, lift it over the threshold, climb back on and scoot on through. Thank goodness for hardwood floors and a wide open floorplan. :)

When we go shopping, Joey and I have very well-defined roles: I shop, and he chases after AB. Little Dooger likes to run free. (Note the different shoes from the previous pic. This was post-Stride Rite.)

Part of the magic of having a toddler is in their little brains’ constant curious learning. Here AB stopped to inspect some leaves and twigs.

More twig research. She’s funded by a grant from The Mommy Foundation. :P
And finally, my favorite picture of the evening. Sheer toddler joy:

I love being AB’s Mommy.
